How long did you attend IST?
I was at IST from the very beginning to the very end: from Pre-Nursery all the way up to Grade 13, for a total of 17 years.
What was your thesis title?
“Examination of the correlation between the level of press freedom and the prosperity in a country.” This topic was of major interest to me, and I chose a sample of different countries to examine.
What was your IST House?
The great Shakti! We had some really fun times, especially the year we won.
In what ways were you prepared for your future studies?
IST was amazing in helping me prepare for the future. I took a lot of AP courses as well as the SAT, which helped me get into great universities all around Europe. The knowledge and skills I gained in my years at IST were instrumental in getting me where I am now, and having the opportunity to learn a third language (French), on top of Italian and English, really gave me a great advantage. I cannot stress enough how important everything you learn during your time there is – even though it may not seem like it at the time, you will reap great rewards from all the knowledge you take in.
In Grade 5, you planned on being…?
An ice cream maker or a veterinarian.
What is your favorite memory from your years at IST?
I spent so much time at IST that it is literally impossible to pick one favorite memory. As cheesy as it may sound, I enjoyed every single bit of it. Some highlights are the various field trips we took, the soccer tournaments we attended in Barcelona, all the lifelong friends I made and the wonderful teachers that helped shape me in my teenage years. Thank you IST, I miss you!
